About

A bit of me

Corrado Inturri was born in Sicily in 1976. He spent the first years of is life in Gela.

From an early age he showed interest in art, and painting in particular.

In those years he stared painting as an autodidact. This period is caracterised by an intense experimentation and research towards finding his own figurative style: real life painting fed by oneiric images.

At the age of twenty he moved to Bologna to attend the Academy of Fine Arts, choosing scenography as main subject, while also studing computer design and working for a scenography company.

After graduating, he left Bologna and went back to south of Italy to pursue his career as a set designer in various theathers between Sicily and Calabria. During is stay in Sicily he discovered, through his friendship with Giovanni Iudice his passion for oil painting while refining his drawing skills with pencil. Together with her sister Valentina, he designed and produced two large canvases representing San Michele Arcangelo and the " foot washing" scene for the altar of the Church of Santa Lucia in Gela. Interested in discovering new pictorial language and influences, he moved to London and later to Spain. In the Iberian Peninsula he worked on many paintings for private Catalan and Andalusian customers. He spent the past five years working and exposing between Andalucia, Catalonia and Madrid.

He currently lives and works in Sicily as interior designer, continuing his experimentation in search of a more defined pictorial identity.
